My dear and darling, loyal and lovely Zim Zummer,
The seasons are changing, as they are apt to do – I feel myself waking from a long hibernation; a winter of musing and mulling but not much making or writing.
In this, my spring, there is a lot of shoots emerging. It is exciting to feel the creative juices begin to flow again – I wondered if they had frozen solid for a while there!!
My winter was not a time of depression or sadness, but of resting and recuperating; of doing less and slowing down, of comfort eating, unplugging, of trying to take better care of my body, of listening to my cycles more, of study, of incorporating more rituals and self care in my life. It was a season to sow seeds and then wait.
I remember when we lived in London – in a life before kids – enduring our first long, dark winter and wondering if it would ever end. And it did. And with it came Easter – and for the first time in my life the whole Easter story took on a whole new level. New life, resurrection, promise – these all seemed so much more relevant in the spring which followed the long winter.
So too this spring feels sweet. The shift in my energy and creativity is welcomed. What does it look like?
The Zim Zum Motherhood is back with the clear mission:
to embrace the messiness, the magnificence and the meaning of Motherhood, through connections.
This means we will once again be running events, I will be back blogging regularly, and I am reinvigorating our Facebook group as an online place to share ideas and questions and stay in touch with our beautiful community of Mums.
Please join us and invite those who you think are looking for a sense of community and reflection through their journey of Motherhood: https://www.facebook.com/groups/896256390519825/
We also have some new happenings:
As well as my rambling inner-monologue blogs, I will also be publishing more “how to”, “how not to”, “things to watch out for”, “life hacks” type pieces about self-care, rituals, oils, mindfulness, PND and of course Motherhood. But rest assured that my reflections and musings will be in the mix too! I’m interested to hear if these are proving useful and what you would like to hear more of.
Over these past months, I have taken a deep dive journey of discovery into essential oils. They are a beautiful way for me to support our family’s health and sleeping and to build new rituals and self-care practices for myself. They are such a natural element to include in my work and it brings me such joy to be sharing them with friends and family. It would be my great honor to sit down with you to tell you more about them. And I will be sharing about this journey and how I am using them on here. To book in a time for either a 1-on-1 or group class at your place, please send me a message HERE, or keep an eye on our Events page for upcoming classes.
We are also launching a new program called PAUSE with The Zim Zum Motherhood – I am working on this beautiful offering and hope to launch it in the next month or so. This will be a way for me to bring together Mums for an hour of relaxation and mindfulness with their friends in their own home. Bliss!
Finally, I have been gathering a few bits and pieces which I love to share with you in a shop on the website. There will be bright lipstick, leopard-print earrings, poetry from Hollie Holden and magical oil blends. Just the essentials. The things which make me smile. Help me find the meaning. Help me out the door on the particularly messy mornings. I hope they will do the same for you.
Thank you for your unending support, interest, encouragement and whisperings of “me too”. When I launched this blog 2 years ago, I was too scared to tell anyone I had even put words online. It is amazing where 730 odd days can lead you!
Love Clare xoxo
