The Neurokin Book Club
4 x weekly 90 minute sessions begins October 2025
Online and/or In-person
$100
A book club for Autistic, ADHD and AuDHD adults*
A space to explore ideas and identity together, in community
*self-identifying, doctor-diagnosed, late-diagnosed etc all welcome
We are a neuro-affirming, peer-led group created by Clare Foale (AuDHDer, Space Holder, Mum, community-seeker). We meet in-person (Manly, Northern Beaches) and online with the intentions of
* discussing ideas of the book (by Neurokin / about Autistic, ADHD and other related topics)
* reflecting and sharing our personal stories, if you wish, and
* coming together and connecting with other Neurokin.
Our first book is “Unmasking Autism” by Dr Devon Price - which is relevant to ADHDers as well as Autistics. We will meet each week, for 4 weeks beginning
* Friday 17 October (10.15am) in-person and / or
* Tuesday 21 October (6pm) online
(You are welcome to come to all the in-person sessions, all the online, or a mix of both - we will roughly cover the same content in each of the sessions. I hope this choice makes the Book Club feel accessible and possible, depending on your capacity and support).
Cost: $100 for the 4 weeks. This covers in-person and / or online sessions. Each session is 90 minutes. Payment is upfront or in 4 installments. If cost is a barrier to taking part, please reach out and we will find a possible exchange.

1:1 Peer Support Companioning Sessions
60 minutes
$80
These sessions are for
Neurokin - one of my favourite words which means others who share my Neurotype ie. Autistic and / or ADHDers - to reflect, ponder, rage, celebrate Life … our sessions can be directly related to our Neurodivergence and / or not.
Those questioning, wondering, exploring their Neurotype who would like support in the way of someone to sit / listen alongside.
Those thinking about or going through the assessment process who would like someone to debrief with, to help navigate the process and to be companioned by someone who gets how much loneliness / grief / relief / so much else this can stir up.
In these sessions I won’t give you advice. That is either a great relief or hugely off-putting.
I am not a Counsellor. I am not a Doctor.
I am a great listener. I am Autistic and an ADHDer and a Mum to kids who are Autistic, ADHD, PDA. I have been Homeschooling since April 2024 and have a kid in mainstream school. I have navigated School Can’t - twice. I am on medication and so are some of my kids. I meditate sporadically and am fascinated by how ideas like Neurodivergence, colonisation and patriarchy intersect.
I am slowly coming to accept that I am not for everyone. That is very important for you to know. I am no longer able or willing to quieten or dull parts of me for others convenience or comfort. For more of what I bring, please read the About Me session - what I want you to know is that I am a gnarly, real, hugely imperfect person who will meet you where you are and who will welcome all the parts of you.
What I will do is listen, ask gentle questions, reflect back what I hear and share my experiences and resources when helpful. This may also include helping you navigate systems, work out next steps and who may be able to support you in certain ways.
Through these 1:1 Peer Support Companioning Sessions we remember that we don’t have to do it alone.
These sessions are available as a one-off or as a regular weekly / fortnightly / monthly / seasonal session. There is beauty and spaciousness in all the ways.
Cost: $80 / session. If you are on a Self-Managed NDIS plan, you may be able to claim this.
In the future I would like to find ways to offer these sessions for less as I know how financially taxing and emotionally challenging it can be to live with a disability and / or to be caring for kids with a disability which makes these sessions all the more important to be accessible. And / but, I find myself in this position too and so am pricing my sessions to tend to your needs and mine and my family’s as best as I can in this season.
1:1 Peer Support Taster Session
30 minutes
No charge
These sessions are for
people who like the sound of The Neurokin Book Club and / or 1:1 Peer Support Companioning Sessions and / but would like to get a better sense of who I am, what we might cover, how we will gel etc etc.
You are welcome to bring a list of questions. You are welcome to bring something which is on your mind. You are welcome to bring a cuppa and see where we go.
There is no expectation or pressure from me for you to sign up for anything after these sessions - maybe you get what you need or decide I am not for you. Or maybe you decide that coming together is what feels supportive in this season of life.
Speaking and Consulting
I love to speak … to share stories … to share the wisdom that I have collected over 44 years of life. I would love to come together on your podcast, to be part of your retreat line up, to share my experience as an AuDHDer, to help make your event or school more Neuro-welcoming.
I have stories and wisdom to share about
Realising I was Autistic and ADHD at 42 years and why I am all for labels
Our experience of School Can’t and moving to Home Schooling
My experience of 3 bouts of Post Natal Depression which I am now wondering “was this Autistic Burnout?!”
How we can create spaces and events which are more welcoming and inclusive and possible. Schools, I’m looking at you. One example, was designing and setting up a Chill Zone alongside a primary school disco - we had so many kids come and hang out - there was water and craft and fidgets and puzzles and games. So many people were happy to find they could be part of the night even though loud events are really hard for them.
Please know, that diversity and inclusion are deeply important to me. I want to be part of communities and discussions which value this too. This means no all-white line ups, as a bare minimum.
